K-Laser

Dr. Rubadue-Doi uses the K-Laser 1200 which is a Class IV warm laser. This laser biostimulates injured and dysfunctional tissues. In essence it supercharges the cell or performs "photobiomodulation". The laser gives your body's cells more energy so they repair and regenerate new tissue.

Laser Therapy Can Help With:

Repetitive Stress Injuries
Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
Myofascial Trigger Points
Lateral Epicondylitis (Tennis Elbow)
Ligament Sprains
Muscle Strains
Plantar Fascitis
Shoulder, Back & Knee Pain
Fibromyalgia

Arthritis
Tendinopathies

What is a Laser?
A laser is a device that controls the way energized atoms release their energy. "Laser" is an acronym for Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation.

What is the Average Treatment Duration?
Most conditions take approximately 6 to 8 visits, depending on the severity. Chronic or severe conditions may take 15 or more treatments.

The typcial treatment is 3 to 9 minutes, depending on the size of the area being treated. The K-Laser treatments must be delivered directly to your skin and are painless.

One of the effects of the K-Laser treatment is vasodilation - which means your blood and lymphatic vessels have a larger diameter. This helps with inflammation reduction, but for some people the vasodilation can also make them sore. Use ice on the area or a pain relief gel such as Biofreeze to help with any discomfort.

How Does Laser Therapy Work?
Accelerated Tissue Repair and Cell Growth
Faster Wound Healing
Reduces Fibrous Tissue Formation
Anti-Inflammation
Anti-Pain (Analgesic)
Improved Vascular Activity
Increased Metabolic Activity
Improved Nerve Function
Immunoregulation
Trigger Point and Acupuncture Point Stimulation

laser-liveLaser Therapy is proven to biostimulate tissue repair and growth. The Laser accelerates the healing process and decreases inflammation, pain and scar tissue formation. In the management of chronic pain Class IV Laser Therapy can provide dramatic results, is non-addictive and virtually free of side effects.

Laser Therapeutic Effects
During each painless treatment, laser energy increases circulation, drawing water, oxygen and nutrients to the damaged area. This creates an optimal healing environment that reduces inflammation, swelling, muscle spasms, stiffness, and pain. As the injured area returns to normal, function is restored and pain is relieved.

Cellular Effects of Laser Therapy
During Laser Therapy the infrared laser light interacts with tissues at the cellular level and metabolic activity increases within the cell, improving the transport of nutrients across the cell membrane. This initiates the production of cellular energy (ATP) that leads to a cascade of beneficial effects, increasing cellular function and health.

Does it Hurt? What Does it Feel Like?
There is little or no sensation during treatment. Occasionally one feels mild, soothing warmth or tingling. Areas of pain or inflammation may be sensitive briefly before pain reduction.

Are there any side effects or associated risks?
Occasionally some old injuries or pain syndromes may feel aggravated for a few days, as the healing response is more active after treatment.

How Should I Dress for a K-Laser Treatment?
Wear clothing that will allow access to the area to be treated. Shorts, sweat pants, a sport bra or similar items are suggested. You may be asked to change into a patient gown if the area needing treatment is not readily accessible.

Why Do I Have to Wear Safety Glasses?
Laser light can be focused by the lens of your eye and potentially cause damage to your retina.
